Storage ideas for every room in your home

We all want to maximise space within our homes, so ample storage solutions are essential to keep everywhere clutter-free and harmonious.

Our customers are always asking for our advice on how they can incorporate more built-in storage into their properties, so our interior experts have compiled some of their favourite ideas to help you achieve a home that’s tidy, stylish and functional.

Kitchen Storage Ideas

Feeding a family requires a lot of stuff - pots and pans, small appliances, dinnerware, cutlery...and that’s before you even get to the ingredients themselves! Ample, organised storage space in a kitchen is, therefore, a must.

Add drawers to cabinets
Make the most of cabinet space by adding internal drawers as an alternative to shelves. Drawers are great for storing things like table linen, placemats, cutlery and utensils and allow you to access items at the back with ease.

Choose a hollow island
Kitchen islands are experiencing a real resurgence. Not only do they provide additional worktop space, but they also create a real open and social feel in the kitchen.

If you’re including an island in your new kitchen, then opt for a design that’s hollow to allow for additional storage space underneath. Think about the items you use regularly when preparing food and design your island storage around this. For example, you may want to include cabinets for pots and pans, drawers for utensils and even a pull-out chopping board.

Built-in appliances
Built-in appliances look amazing and are a major space saver. Not only can fridge/freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers all be hidden away, they can also make the room appear tidier and more put together, creating an illusion of a larger open space.

Bathroom Storage Ideas

Your family bathroom should be a place to power up for the morning, or relax and unwind after a long day, but this is impossible with toiletries and towels lingering around everywhere.

Above window shelves
Maximise dead space by adding shelving above the window in your bathroom. Custom-built cupboards with lift up doors provide a seamless and sleek solution, or for a cost-effective option use stylish rustic baskets to store items away.

Under-sink storage
An oldie but a goody! Utilise bathroom storage with fitted bathroom furniture. By opting for a made-to-measure unit you can make the most of every last inch of space. As with the kitchen, you can tailor your cabinetry to your needs, whether your family needs drawers for cosmetics, open shelves for towels or cabinets for cleaning products.

Bedroom Storage Ideas

Transform your messy bedroom into a stunning boutique abode with clever storage ideas that create a room that’s perfect for rest or play!

Built-in wardrobes
Freestanding wardrobes are not ideal if you have sloping ceilings or awkward alcoves in your bedroom. Make the most of every inch of space in your bedroom with wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes that provide more than enough space for your belongings.

The internal storage choices for built-in wardrobes is infinite, from shoe-racks and jewellery trays to shelving and even hidden dressing tables.

Home Office Storage

Thanks to lockdown more people are now working from home, as such, demand has grown for built-in home office furniture.

Closet Study
For homes without the luxury of a spare bedroom to convert into a study, many are opting for a home office in the main part of the home that can be shut away at the end of the working day.

House your desk in a custom-built cupboard with sliding doors, or convert existing dead space (such as under the stairs) into a functional, usable working area.

Hallway

Hallways are the dumping grounds of the home! Create a welcoming entrance to your home by hiding away coats and shoes with clever storage solutions.

Under stair storage
If you’re lacking storage space in your home, then under the stairs should be your first port of call. The space under the stairs is without a doubt the least well-utilitised area of the home, but things are changing.

Long gone are the days of a disorganised “catch-all’ cupboard under the stairs. Nowadays the possibilities are endless with built-in shelves and cupboards or pull out shoe racks and coat rails. You can even have your very own custom-made wine rack!
