Green Galley Kitchen Transformation in Braintree, Essex

Spires Interiors recently completed work on this stunning galley kitchen renovation at a home in Braintree, Essex. As part of the project, we transformed a tired and outdated kitchen into a sleek and stylish cooking and entertaining space, with an eye-catching green theme.

The homeowners, David and Kayleigh, were looking for a modern and stylish kitchen that would bring their cooking space, and their home in general, more up-to-date. The project aimed to incorporate a sophisticated nature-inspired green, white, and gold colour palette, along with eye-catching hardware, and energy-efficient appliances, to create a functional, inviting, and stylish space.

Our team of in-house designers collaborated with David and Kayleigh to develop a design concept that would blend function with contemporary aesthetics. The central idea was to separate the two core functions of the space; with cooking and food preparation in one part of the kitchen, and laundry and food storage in the other half. Using the Callerton Monza kitchen range, we created a sleek and stylish combination of matt fir green fronts and plinths with a walnut carcass. Hardware was added in the form of antique brass handles and pulls. To maintain the aesthetic, an inset double belfast sink with aged brass taps. 

Textured wood is naturally a great combination for a green kitchen and so we opted for a walnut chevron laminate floor that draws the eye up and down the kitchen. To offset the dark tones of the green units and dark wood floor, a cool quartz worktop was extended up into a splashback, creating a break in the colour, and a coherent space for preparing food. By reimagining the layout of the kitchen too, we were able to move the refrigerator space, enabling us to remove a part-partition wall, blocking natural light and conversation between the kitchen and the adjoining dining space.

The transformation of this galley kitchen into a sleek and sophisticated cooking space exceeded expectations. The combination of eye-catching flooring, worktop and splashback, and stunning, fir green cupboards has created a serene atmosphere in the kitchen. The revisited layout optimized workflow and functionality, making cooking and meal preparation a breeze, and opening up the kitchen to the dining space.
