A Handleless Cottage Kitchen Renovation in Harwich, Essex

Spires Interiors renovated this cottage kitchen near Harwich, Essex, transforming an otherwise disused room into a stunning modern, handleless kitchen. Here's how we did it.

Handleless kitchens are as popular as ever, with their sleek and stylish aesthetic suiting modern homes, especially newer properties. However, if you've got an older property, that doesn't mean you can't go down the route of a contemporary, handleless kitchen. In fact, we recently incorporated this style into a period property in Harwich, Essex.

We combined fronts and plinths from the Camden range in a carbon grey colour, with a smooth matt finish and fingerprint-resistant coating. This was paired with a solid wood grey oak worktop, creating a modern, yet warm and inviting space. The kitchen has no external windows, and therefore, to ensure there was plenty of light in the room, we combined ceiling-mounted spotlights with under-cupboard spotlights and integrated plinth lighting, creating plenty of warm light throughout the space. The cupboards, worktops, and lighting alone give this space a sleek and stylish aesthetic, but without functionality, the kitchen isn't a very practical space. To achieve this, we installed a Cuisinemaster Electric Range Cooker, along with a two-bowl stainless steel sink and Inksinkerator waste disposal system.

By combining the sleek, modern aesthetic of a handleless kitchen with features like the solid grey oak wooden worktop and range cooker that hark to the age of the property, we've been able to create a stylish cottage kitchen that will look great for years to come.
